My Top Picks from Uniqlo for Autumn/Winter 2024

Uniqlo is one of those brands that has successfully emerged in the past couple of years as a key player in the staples and good quality fashion market. It thrives on the fact that their pieces are great, everyday staple items that merge seamlessly into everyones wardrobe and as basics go…they’re pretty good when you add in the quality and cost per wear. It provides ‘made for all’ clothing that can be worn whenever and wherever without the latest trends or copies from the fashion runway.
The Japanese brand founded in Yamaguchi in 1949, started as a men’s clothing store. It has since transformed into a global phenomenon boasting over 2,434 stores in over 20 countries and generating a staggering $16.3 billion in sales last year. Their strategy seems to lie in a display of quiet confidence and quality basics that transcend the transient nature of fashion.
Clean lines and timeless designs characterize their clothing, allowing their pieces to speak for themselves. Not only do they remain one of the most competitive retailers in the market right now, but they embrace innovation and technology when it comes to clothing. Fabrics like HeatTech for warmth and Airism for keeping cool, showcase their commitment to providing functional and comfortable clothing. Moreover, the brand has embraced sustainability practices, incorporating recycled materials and ethical sourcing in its production processes.
For me personally, it’s become my go-to for basics that are both simple and elegant whilst affordable and good quality. My personal favourites which I buy on repeat are the ribbed tank tops with the in-built bras (in fact, any of their tops with built-in bras are a winner for me – both comfortable and practical) and the pleated wide-legged trousers which look great whether you dress them up or down.
I’ve linked these below and above as well as my top picks for the season ahead plus pieces which you will wear well into Spring and re-wear season after season. Their knits in particular are timeless as well as staples like the satin skirt, striped tops and tailored trousers.
The only negative I have to say about the brand is…their website. I find it extremely glitchy and difficult to navigate around – which is why my selection (above and below) makes it much easier.
